Sighting the New Moon

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

"Every month is a stage in a man's life. As a month ends and the new moon is signalling the beginning of the next month, it seems to announce that a stage in every man's life has passed and a new one beginning. The most suitable supplication at this time can only be: "O Allah! Cause the new stage, which is the new month, to pass with peace, security, faith and Islam, and make us obedient to You."

Because there are people in the world who worship the moon, Rasulullah (Sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam) made part of the supplication as a declaration that the moon is merely a creation of Allah Ta'ala and just as Allah Ta'ala is our Lord so too is He the Lord of the moon."

Durood Shareef | Jumu`ah

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said:

“Confer Salaah (Durood) upon me excessively each Friday; the one who confers the most Salaah will be closest to me.”
(Baihaqi)

“Confer Salaah (Durood) increasingly upon me, during the day of Jumu`ah and during the eve of Jumu`ah. Whosoever does so, I will be his witness or I will intercede for him on the Day of Qiyaamah.”
(Baihaqi)

"The one who confers 1000 Durood upon me in one day, he will not die until he is given the glad-tidings of Jannah."
(Kanzul Ummaal)

When a Strong Wind Blows

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

Whenever the winds would blow, Rasulullah’s (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) colour would change and he would become worried. Upon enquiry, he would say: “I fear that it could be a punishment for my Ummah.”

Thereafter, if it rained calmly, his relief was to such an extent, that he would even go out, into the rain, open his chest or some part of his body and let the rain fall on his body so as to take blessing from it. Upon enquiry, Rasulullah (Sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam) said: “Indeed it (the rain) has just recently come from my Lord.”

Salaat and Salaam

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah (Radhiyalluhu anhu) narrated that Rasulullah
(Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said:

Whoever confers blessings upon me by my grave, I hear his blessings and whenever blessings are conferred upon me from a distance, they are conveyed to me.”

The Trees of Jannah

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

Hazrat ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (Radiyallahu’anhu) reported that
Rasulullah (Sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said:

I met Nabi Ibrahim (‘Alaihis Salaam) when I was taken on Mi’raj (ascension to the heavens) and he told me:  “O Muhammad, convey my Salaam (greetings) to your Ummah and tell them that Jannah has good soil and sweet water, but it is barren. The plantation of Jannah is (the recitation of) Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaaha illallah and Allahu Akbar.”

(Tirmidhi)
